3D Puff
Raised, dimensional embroidery for bulk orders. Add depth and texture to your designs with premium 3D puff foam embroidery.
What is 3D Puff Embroidery?
3D puff embroidery is a specialized technique that creates raised, dimensional designs by stitching over a foam backing. When heat is applied during the embroidery process, the foam expands, lifting the stitches up to 5mm above the fabric surface.
This creates a bold, tactile effect that adds premium feel and visual impact to your custom apparel. The raised texture catches light and creates shadows, making designs stand out from every angle.
3D puff is most commonly used for logos, text, and bold graphic elements on hats, jackets, and premium apparel where a luxury finish is desired.

Important Considerations
Design Simplicity: Fine details, thin lines, and small text will not work well with 3D puff.
Fabric Limitations: Works best on structured fabrics. Not recommended for stretchy or lightweight materials.
Placement Restrictions: Not suitable for areas that flex or stretch frequently (like underarms).
Higher Cost: Foam backing and specialized process add $1-2 per piece to standard embroidery pricing.
